IoTeX, a decentralized physical infrastructure network, has recently partnered with Polygon Labs to integrate its 2.0 blockchain with AggLayer. This collaboration aims to enhance the adoption of DePIN projects with the help of AggLayer’s cross-chain communication and liquidity-sharing functions. By integrating with AggLayer, IoTeX-based projects will be able to issue rewards and provide users with more choices to settle transactions on their preferred blockchain.
The partnership between IoTeX and Polygon will extend cross-chain capabilities, unlocking new liquidity and scaling opportunities for DePIN projects. AggLayer, developed by Polygon Labs and others, offers unified liquidity and security across blockchains using zero-knowledge proofs to ensure privacy and security for blockchain transactions. This collaboration is expected to empower DePIN projects to thrive in a multichain environment and provide a connecting layer across various ecosystems.
In July, IoTeX released a white paper for IoTeX 2.0, outlining a tech stack composed of composable modules and a unified trust layer to increase DePIN adoption. The stack will be underpinned by a token economy linking DePIN dApps, Layer 2 chains, and devices, allowing developers to easily integrate with AggLayer. This integration will enable users to engage with DePIN applications built on different blockchains, further fueling the growth of DePIN projects and expanding their reach.
Polygon Labs introduced the blockchain aggregation layer earlier this year to aggregate multiple chains into one and provide aggregated liquidity across chains. Several projects, including OKX’s X Layer, Immutable, Astar, Canto, Palm Network, Aavegotchi, and others, are utilizing or planning to utilize the Polygon CDK to build their Layer 2s and bridge into AggLayer. Movement recently became the first Move-based network to be admitted into AggLayer, aiming to bridge the interoperability gap between the Move and EVM ecosystems.
IoTeX’s infrastructure has already been leveraged by projects within the Polygon ecosystem, such as Geodnet, a geospatial data network, and Dimo, a vehicle data monetization platform. Additionally, Fabric Cryptography, a crypto hardware maker, announced a deal with Polygon Labs to bring its bespoke ZK chips into the AggLayer ecosystem. These partnerships and collaborations highlight the growing importance of interoperability and cross-chain communication in the blockchain industry, allowing projects to expand their reach and offer more value to users across different blockchains.
